Poniente beach, the quietest and longest beach in Benidorm
Poniente beach , is much quieter, bigger and more relaxed than the party beach Playa de Levante.
Poniente beach in Benidorm is where older Spanish beach holiday makers and families spend their days basking in the sun.
The 3.7 km long beach is well maintained, has a blue flag and an award winning promenade.
Playa Poniente starts just behind the marina and stretches as far as Tossal de la Cala, where you’ll find the hermitage ‘Virgen del Mar’ situated on top of the hill at the end of the beach.
You get breathtaking views of Benidorm including both beaches and the Old Town area. Apart from the views, you’ll find ruins of a Roman settlement that was first excavated in the 1940s and dates back to the 2nd and 1st centuries BC.

Fast developing Poniente impressive skyline
Poniente is fast becoming the place to be in Benidorm with numerous high quality apartment blocks being built with prices that run into the millions. The accomodation offer in Poniente is exceptional and there are some fabulous restaurants from typically Spanish to Thai and everything in between. Try the Portus Massai beach bar for amazing food and drinks in front of the beach. One of the most spectacular buildings in Poniente Beach is called InTempo, it’s Europe’s tallest residential building and officially opens this summer.
Built just in front of the InTempo, you’ll find the twin towers, Sunset Drive, a luxury residential complex with spectacular views and 5 star amenities.My favourite are the Sunset Waves, another twin tower complex in the shape of waves in an area called Via Parque, set back from the beach and ona hill with again views to die for.

Literally on the beach!
Rooms feature a terrace with fabulous sea views. There is also an outdoor swimming pool which over looks the beach.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.1 for a two-person trip.
Hotel RH Corona del Mar 4*
Located at the end of the Parque de Elche or Dove park, as we Brits call it.
The Hotel RH Corona del Mar is one of the best family hotels in Benidorm with amazing facilities. One great feature is that it’s close to the Old Town.

Hotel Villa del Mar
It has a stunning roof top pool with fabulous views.
Hotel Villa del Mar offers a buffet restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine, with an optional all-inclusive regime too. The bar at this design hotel prepares cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere over looking the Med.

Gran Delfin Hotel
At the top end of Poniente beach, close to Tossal de la Cala that I mentioned earlier.
Gran Hotel Delfín is located in a quiet area, has a large garden with an outdoor pool and overlooks the bay. It’s a Benidorm classic hotel and is well worth considering.
