Located in the Rincon de Loix area of the resort, just 150 metres from Levante beach, Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa received approval this month to proceed with an ambitious expansion plan.

The plan to expand the four-star hotel, in a section of the city hugely popular with British holiday makers, include the addition to a new tower to the building, according to Spanish website Alicante Plaza.

Last year, the Port Hotel Company, which has a chain of 11 hotels on the Costa Blanca—three in Benidorm—announced that the new tower, costing between €10 and €12-million, will add an additional 120 rooms to what it calls its “flagship” Benidorm property. This will bring the total of rooms to 400.

The two other properties the company has in Benidorm are Post Vista Ora and Port Fiesta Park, both three-star establishments.
