Eurovision Fun reports that Spanish broadcaster RTVE has announced that 876 songs have been submitted for the event which, in 2022, saw thousands gather in Benidorm around the giant, newly-installed Tecnohito display at the heart of the Old Town. Moreover, there will be “more professional candidates” in the contest, among them well-known artists. Judges will narrow the 876 songs down to 16 for the national selection. Benidorm Fest 2023 will take place from January 29 until February 04.
